The Tennessee Wall is named for the Tennessee River that meanders through the Tennessee River Gorge just at the wall’s base. The Prentice Cooper State forest owns and manages the cliff and is home to miles of hiking trails, 4×4 roads, and T-Wall Sandstone! Luckily for climbers, Prentice Cooper manages their lands with a very pro-recreation stance that has helped to establish Prentice Cooper State Forest as one of the most popular and well-used recreational resources in the region. T-Wall itself is a South facing crag sitting high atop the TN river gorge whose 80’ to 120’ walls tower above tree-lines and soak in sun and exposure. For this reason, the season at T-Wall is from Fall to Spring.
